IL28B genotype has the strongest predictive value among host factors associated with sustained virologic response. A single nucleotide polymorphism (rs12979860) is strongly associated with a Sustained Virologic Response in HCV genotype 1 infections and to a lesser extent with HCV genotypes 2 & 3.
